“ Stayed for a night before a wedding. Due to traffic we arrived quite late but the staff kept the kitchen open for us. Everything was wonderful food, staff and location. Lovely friendly place and our room was amazing. Definitely be back. ”
“ First visit and will definitely be back , bread & caramelised onion butter was a great start, followed by pea soup & lamb Raviolo both which were packed with flavour and the raviolo pasta one of the best I have ever tasted. We chose The Roast pork & Sea bass for mains the quality of the produce and skill level in the cooking all dishes was outstanding finishing with strawberry trifle and a chocolate tart of which the pastry was thin & crispy showing serious pastry skill. Service and atmosphere exactly what you would expect from a town centre pub offering high quality food. ”
“ Had a lovely vegan dinner here. It was great to have an entirely separate menu so we could easily see what we could eat. The options were interesting and absolutely delicious and included a sticky toffee pudding (!!!!!) It was a random and damp Thursday evening but the restaurant was busy, with a lovely atmosphere, music at the right level, good buzz but tables are far enough apart that you can hear each other. Fantastic service from everyone - professional and efficient but really friendly. Would definitely recommend. ”
“ Absolutely fabulous place, standard of food is high and consistent. Rooms are elegant and comfortable, vary in size but all are well equipped and beautifully decorated. Staff are a really well oiled machine, superb, you'd be hard pushed to find people who work so well together giving the customers a flawless service. ”
“ Fantastic place to eat. Wonderful food (and wine and soft drinks). Great service. Lovely atmosphere. For those interested, they have a separate vegan menu and some of the best vegan food I’ve ever had. My partner said the regular menu was also excellent. ”
“ Wow what great pub. Chose it for its food primarily and what a great choice. Definitely the best fish and chips I've ever had, and the beers were good too! Nice friendly staff and locals who made you feel welcome . Downside is parking, yes it's there if you're staying, but not too much bother to park in a public car park. I'd definitely return if in the area ”
“ An excellent 3-course lunch, a cut or three above most pub meals - every mouthful delightful from an imaginative menu. Not the cheapest but have certainly paid more for lesser quality food. Service very good. Only quibble is 6.60 for a can of Guinness Zero is a diabolical liberty. ”
“ I've been here a couple of times now and both times were great experiences. The latest meal (for four of us) was excellent, all of us had different dishes and all were good. The service is attentive but sensible. The atmosphere is good, a gentle buzz with plenty of diners even though we sat down really early (6pm on a Wednesday out of season). Not cheap, but very good value still. We'd come back for sure. ”
